Werner to be included in a deal for Haaland

Chelsea plans to include striker Timo Werner in their offer for Borussia (Dortmund) goal scorer Erling Haaland. The Blues have joined the queue of candidates for Norwegian talent and believe that with such a proposal they can win the bidding. There was information that the “ The Black and Yellows ” will want at least 150 million euros for their big star this summer. Next year Haaland would cost only 70 million, because a clause is activated in his contract.  Chelsea managed to take Werner for only 45 million last summer, which was also possible due to a special clause in the striker’s contract with RB Leipzig. However, the German international is still having difficulty adapting to England and has scored just one goal in the Premier League since November.

“It is not time to reflect for the summer and other solutions, other than what we have,” Tuchel said about the transfer “We have guys that we are happy with and are looking for more solutions; we will try to help them.”

“Timo is clearly one of these guys who has always scored a huge amount of goals and defined himself as the guy who has the last touch on the field. This is a very unique character and position. It is a sensitive position.” Tuchel defended his striker.

Werner’s form has yet to pick up since Thomas Tuchel’s appointment in January, and he faces an uncertain future in west London. Chelsea are said to be on the lookout for a new centre-forward, with Haaland among the players they are keeping tabs on.

Haaland, on the other hand, is making a real sensation with the Dortmund team, scoring 47 goals in 48 games, and adding 11 more assists to them after his transfer from RB (Salzburg) last January. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are all interested in him.

Manchester United are one of those clubs, having made signing Haaland their top priority, the Manchester Evening News reports. United missed the boat in their bid to sign Haaland last summer but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and football director John Murtough have agreed the centre-forward should be their major target as a long-term replacement for Romelu Lukaku up front. Chelsea would also have to pay a transfer fee for one of the most in-demand players in world football, but they could negotiate a cheaper price by offering Werner in part-exchange.
