Mason Mount unhappy with playing time this season

Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount is willing to move to Liverpool through the winter transfer window, according to the Daily Star. The 22-year-old English national is not happy with the little playing time he has received since the beginning of the season and is already considering a transfer. He has played only 6 games as a starter during the campaign so far and feels underestimated by manager Thomas Tuhel, at the expense of the highly paid foreigners at the club.

It is said that Real Madrid is closely monitoring the situation around Mount, but the player himself hopes to receive a call from Liverpool. “Mason is a good boy and everyone in Chelsea loves him. He is very popular with his teammates, but at the moment he feels underestimated. He has been at Chelsea since he was a child and is the product of the club’s academy. However, Mason thinks he does not get the same attention as some of the foreigners bought to the club for large sums.He is hesitant because on the one hand he loves the club and the fans, but on the other hand he thinks it’s time to leave and take the next step in his career.”, a man from Mount’s entourage told the Daily Star.

The footballer has a contract with Chelsea until 2024, and currently his market price according to Trensfermarkt is about 75 million euros. Since the beginning of the season he has 3 goals and 2 assists on his account. He started in first eleven just two times for the last five games in Premier League and was left out of the group twice. Maybe with upcoming series of fixtures of 10 games in under a month, Mount will find a more steady inclusion to the squad.

Chelsea host Juventus in a game of Group H at Stamford Bridge this evening knowing a win or draw will secure a Champions League knockout place. Next Premier League game is against managerless Manchester United this Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
