Pressure for Lampard increases, Olivier Giroud to stay until summer

Chelsea are not considering parting ways with manager Frank Lampard, despite the team’s poor form in recent months, according to the Telegraph. The Londoners have taken just four points from their last five Premier League games and are currently in an unenviable ninth position, amid the big transfers they made last summer.

According to the Independent, the leadership of The Blues have already identified potential replacements for Lampard, in case he is fired. The most talked about are the names of Thomas Tuchel, who was fired at Christmas by PSG, as well as that of former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri. The others on the list are Brendan Rodgers (Leicester), Ralph Hasenhuttl (Southampton) and former Chelsea player and current national team coach of Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has decided to stay at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season, journalist Nicola Skira wrote on Twitter.

The 34 year old Frenchman was considering changing clubs during the winter transfer window, with Italian giants Juventus and Inter reportedly showing interest in the player. Giroud has been playing for Chelsea since 2018, having previously played for another London club – Arsenal. This season the striker has 9 games in the Premier League with 3 goals.
