Chelsea facing struggling Arsenal on Boxing Day

Chelsea has a chance to climb in top 4 if manage to get a win against Arsenal this weekend. Blues are coming fresh and in good spirit after clean 3-0 win to West Ham on Monday. Arsenal on the other hand are in terrible form not been able to win a game in Premier League since November 1 when they beat United at Old Trafford.

Currently both team are at the opposite side of the league table, Chelsea 5th just 6 points behind the leader Liverpool and Arsenal at 15th place close to the relegation spot. Arsenal woes were compounded with loss in the Carabao cup to Manchester City early this week.

Coming to the game Lampard’s boys must feel the favorite, but Chelsea boss warns caution. “They are good team with good manager, but have had some tough results lately. They are still high quality team, that’s my only concern.”, commented in interview Lampard.

Ben Chilwell and Hakim Ziyech got slight injuries against West Ham and are in doubt. Another problem is the poor form of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner, the German duo was expect to be driving force for Blue this season, but failed to impress to far.

Werner is expected to start after scoring last game, but Havertz most likely will stay on the bench again and Emerson will replace injured Chilwell on the left-back.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is under great pressure to turn back the season with a win on Boxing Day, but huge problems with his team attacking and scoring ability puts Gunners chances at low. No fans at Emirates is another reason Chelsea could feel confident for the upcoming game.

Chelsea will start with the usual 4-3-3. Werner, Abraham and Pulisic will lead the attack with Mount, Jorginho and Kante at midfield. At the back Zouma, Silva, Azpilicueta and Emerson will guard the approach to Mendy’s goalpost.
